The sneak peek into the exhibition’s highlights will build visitor and exhibitor anticipation as the trade show takes on a regional presence, creating market access and opportunities in the ASEAN region
The organisers of Engineering Exhibition and Conference 2023, Malaysia (ENGINEER) and its concurrent exhibition, the Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration & Ventilation Exhibition 2023, Malaysia (MARVEX) hosted an exclusive preview to present key highlights of next year’s exhibition, to stimulate excitement and anticipation among visitors and exhibitors alike, and keen exhibitors.
Held for the second consecutive year, the exhibition will gather key industry and engineering leaders from locally and across the ASEAN region including exhibitors, engineering and other allied professionals, government delegations, high-profile industry players, trade associations, business chambers and international investors to experience the changes in the industry as businesses embrace digitalisation and ESG-inspired technology. With ESG topping the business agenda, ENGINEER and MARVEX will lead the movement to heed the social and environmental challenges, and discuss solutions to solve problems that could potentially plague the future generation.
Themed “The Business Gateway to ASEAN Engineering and ACMV&R,” the exhibition will converge the engineering fraternity in the region and aspire to elevate their standards and capabilities to be internationally recognised.
ENGINEER, an event of IEM Convention, is jointly organised by IEM (The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia) and C.I.S, while MARVEX is jointly organised by the Malaysian Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Association (MACRA) and C.I.S as well.
The preview allowed the industry to recognise the importance of engineering and realise the opportunities present as economies emerge post-pandemic, into a more digitised and automated environment where businesses are focused on harmonising customer experience and concerns for nature. The exhibition will showcase breakthrough products and solutions built on transformational technology in the engineering world. With climate change and increased focus on achieving the zero-carbon target, delegates will be able to learn more about new technologies that promote sustainability with renewable energy, low carbon emissions and low waste production.
The Engineering and Air-conditioning, Refrigeration and Ventilation (ACMV&R) industries will come together for four (4) days from 6-9 September next year at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. It will be the premier platform positioned as the intermediary for the next engineering revolution playing a vital role in the economic integration of the region.
“ENGINEER and MARVEX in March 2022 brought to the industry’s attention new and efficient technologies with the capabilities to catalyse the government’s aspiration of digitalising our industries. Next year, I look forward to see an even better display of new technology, especially green technology that will help us harness the capacity of the construction sector and cut emission rates and achieve energy savings.
This will set the standard and the pace for the industry as we move forward to become a developed nation”, said Ir. Rahmat Bin Hj Abdul Rahman, Deputy Director General – Building Sector, Public Works Department, Ministry of Works Malaysia, in his speech as the Guest of Honour at the preview session.
ENGINEER and MARVEX 2023 will also be an avenue for the industry to exchange ideas and stay abreast with all the latest trends through a series of business and industry talks, conferences and symposiums featuring the best minds from across the globe. Key global issues and challenges will be discussed and potential solutions weighed in.
IEM President, Ir. Professor Dr. Norlida bt. Buniyamin said, with less than ten years to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, there is an urgency to examine global systems and balance human aspirations with the planet’s ability to sustain them. ENGINEER 2023 will be an event that encourages the industry players to look into green solutions to preserve the planet for better lives. I urge the suppliers, manufacturers and engineers to take advantage of this platform to stay relevant. We aim to bring you the insights, innovation and influence of global stakeholders who have the power to bring real change.
Another area of significance today is the relevance of air-conditioning and ventilation systems with the capability to filter virus and bacterium, apart from pollutants. As the power-economies of Southeast Asia rise, air-cond sales are projected to grow 700% from 2017 to reach 300 million units by 2040. The largest driver of air-cond sales will be Indonesia, accounting for half the demand. Businesses today are also seeking fittings and fixtures that are zero-carbon, energy efficient or even built on renewable energy technology.
“I hope you see the incredible value and worthwhile experience MARVEX offers, uniting industry professionals and experts, brands and potential business partners. This is the place to meet the suppliers and manufacturers of remarkable ESG-inspired solutions that could potentially revolutionise the industry and make the world better for us all”, MACRA’s President Mr Peter Tan said when addressing the attendees at the show’s preview today.
He pointed out that MARVEX were the ideal place to share and learn together and collectively strengthen the industry to contribute to rebuilding our economy towards nation-building as we strive to become a developed country.
Dato’ Vincent Lim, President of C.I.S shared that he is proud to have the opportunity in partnering industry associations like IEM and MACRA to organise ENGINEER and MARVEX, with the aim to uplift the industry. “It is our part to create this business event platform that congregates all the industry players, the stakeholders with the same vision for a focused Engineering and ACMV&R event to facilitate business, learning and networking”.
The preview kicked-off with a sneak peek of the events and activities lined-up for the next show in 2023, which included the specially curated conferences and symposiums on electrotechnical, digital transformation, project management and water resources under the IEM Convention. The exhibition will host networking dinners, cocktails, biz and industry talks which exhibitors can leverage on to meet, greet and mingle with prospective buyers, engineers, consultants and specifiers or launch new products.
